How to Kick – Tips for Martial Arts

You know how to kick… now let’s work on kicking better! These tips have helped me. I hope they help you, too!

Before we talk about kicks, let’s talk about flexibility. I get questions all the time from students who have difficulty executing high kicks.

That’s okay!

Most people have trouble with high kicks. They also don’t have much time for stretching.

How To Kick TipsTo be honest, though, I wouldn’t worry too much about high kicks. You can defend yourself without kicking anyone in the head!

If you want to be a movie star? Well, that’s a whole different story! 🙂

The other big question I get asked all the time is about balance. Even a low kick can send you to the ground if you’re not careful. So, here’s my favorite drill to help you improve your balance.
