Self-Defense Tips with Sensei Ando

Posted on February 22, 2013January 11, 2017 by Ando Mierzwa

I was a guest on the internet radio show Broad Topics with Laura Nickerson a few years ago. The topic was women’s self-defense tips. I thought it was lost forever…

But guess what?

I found it! You can still listen to the interview online! Amazing!

Even better, you can listen to it right here. Just sit back and press PLAY below.

What exactly does the lively segment cover? Glad you asked!

Basic Self-Defense Tips

  • Focusing on prevention, not punches.
  • Weighing risks.
  • Separating fact from fiction.
  • Trusting your instincts.
  • Why cool moves don’t matter.
  • Fighting for yourself as hard as you would fight for someone you love.

Yep! Whether you’re new to self-defense or not, this interview is worth your time. There’s a lot of info packed into that 16-minute segment!

Believe it or not, I actually listened to the show myself. Why? Because it’s good for everyone to review self-defense tips.

Seriously—there’s nothing more dangerous than walking around with the attitude that you know it all… or that something bad can’t happen to you. You don’t and it can!

To be honest, I had to listen to the show more than once because I was speaking really fast! I couldn’t understand what the heck I was saying! Sorry about that. And this was recorded before I started drinking coffee! 🙂

Anyway, grab yourself a cup of something hot and let’s travel together back to the year 2008. I think you’ll find that self-defense tips never grow old.

Enjoy the show!

Keep fighting for a happy life! 🙂

My favorite line in your interview:
“Give yourself permission to protect your inner child as you would an actual child outside of yourself.”
    Great interview Sensei!

Yes, the inner child… maybe that’s why my wife always calls me a baby. 🙂
