Hi Roman! I’m 6′ even. Which means sometimes I’m the bigger guy and sometimes I’m the smaller guy!

This episode reminds me of a fable.
“Patience et longueur de temps font plus que force ni que rage!” Jean de La Fontaine (17th century.)
“Patience and length of time are doing more than strength or rage!”
But out of the 6 keys for a little bee to defeat a big guy, my favorite is: the positioning (not who we are, but where we are to fight.)

      Hi Ingrid!

What a great quote! And as I get older, I fully believe it! πŸ™‚

Yes, when and where we fight can make the difference. Pick your battles carefully!

      Happy life!

That’s the sound of a regular fly, not a bee, and certainly no bumble-bee. Bumble-bees make a more sonorous and slower sound. LOL.
Where did you get that sound anyway? It’s cool.

The Ravi story is hilarious. Well told. I laughed so much.

Decision-making like a gun? Love that statement.

I’m so happy you’re enjoying the podcasts! I think the buzzing was part of the Sound Effects library that came with the computer. That’s hilarious that you can tell the difference! πŸ˜€

      Keep firing that gun!

I loved the advice here. It reminds me other advice for some other specific bigger dangers you can face in the jungle: “hitting heavily the ground with your feet so the snakes will run away not trying to mess with you … like if you were an elephant.
Have you ever saw a boa eating an elephant? No! It is the proof it works!
(N.B.: I was raised in Congo for 18 years)

I think an elephant could tiptoe and still be safe from a boa! πŸ˜€ But yes, I see your point. Hit heavily… make your mark… be you! πŸ™‚

My partner used to have two bee hives. Unfortunately they died. But we still have some of the honey and are grateful for it. So much work!
Also I grew up on the countryside and there were many flies around the cows’ leftovers. Haha!
There were bumble-bees in my parents’ garden. And so on. This was before all those pesticides that kill them and us.

Ingrid – that’s great advice, thanks. I’ve never been to Congo, that’s very interesting for me. Over here in Bavaria they have long ago killed all predators.

(I’m by the way against swatting bees :-D)

      Congo was so beautiful!
      And the culture!
      The past is the past.

      I prefer America!
Always surprising me, in good and in bad!

Definitely, one has to know how to fight to survive! Everywhere!

You are so right, Ando! Action is the best medicine!
I finally got my health insurance and was able to see a doctor since March 2016!
As I was telling the doctor that my high blood pressure was going down slowly, she jumped on the opportunity to prescribe me water pills for my hypertension. I SAID NO. she insisted. I KEPT SAYING NO She insisted arguing that I was refusing to treat myself. I explained her that I wasn’t refusing treatments but I was refusing the pills, there are alternative treatments!
Oh! I did a big mistake there! She sent me to see a shrink! That doctor knows how to fight! Maybe she will get what she wants from me like that.
I know how to fight back!
There were 2 shrinks. One with a master degree!
Yeepee! The intern under supervision was out of the game after 3 minutes. I ASKED HIM TO LEAVE BECAUSE HE MESSES UP WITH HIS EXPLANATION; he said that because of confidentiality everything we say will stay between us 3, and then between all the services from the clinics. Man make up your mind!
One shrink down, one more to go! I repeated to the master degree shrink 10 times that every treatment must take care of the roots , the causes of the problems; she didn’t even heard me! She only wanted to sell me services; she was so obsessed trying to -not to force me but – tp convince me to buy what she was saying, and also offering as medical services paid by the health insurance! She was so obsessed that she didn’t even took the opportunity to build some good work and to ask me what were the “causes”, the roots of my hypertension!
By the same token, she didn’t even asked me how I was doing to succeed (without medicine) to lower my hypertension!!!!
What I know does not interest her!
        Very interesting!!!!!
That young fresh graduated shrink not even aware of facing an old fox like me!
Tell me about shrinks and levels of accountability too!!!!
When I asked that day for my medical record I have been answered that the doctor needed more information and that no diagnose had been establish yet!
They are smart not to put by writing all what they served me verbally!!!
They still don’t know that I do sport to lower my high blood pressure!
Action is the best medicine, oh yeah!

Yes, Ando! It is only the beginning!!!!
But I have been luckier with the dentist!
I found a good one who is not scare about writing a real and full dental record!
I don’t talk about the price, that’s another story!

    Hi Sensei Ando.
I don’t know how you do it. But every podcast I listen to has a direct application to my life. Right now I’m in a job where I don’t have chemistry with the team. Very hostile and toxic environment. What you say is right – positioning is everything. I’ll never be successful here. But I don’t know where my perfect place to work is. If I had it my way, you would be on my team or my boss, and I would have a flexible schedule and I could do and teach TKD and life coaching every day. But I’ll need my black belt to teach. And I’ll need to marry rich. LOL. But listening to you makes me feel like I really wish someone like you would be my boss. That would be the perfect boss. I would be so happy working.
